CSG Willem de Zwijger is a Christian (protestant) Comprehensive School for secondary education. The school provides three levels of education: intermediate level (vmbo-t) and advanced level (havo) which both prepare for vocational colleges and a pre-university level (vwo) which prepares for further education at universities.

The school has over 1050 students (aged 12-18) and is housed in a beautiful new building. The school is located on the outskirts of Schoonhoven. Schoonhoven is a small town and has a charming medieval centre. It is situated in the 'Green Heart' of The Netherlands with its typical landscape of polders, riverdykes, farms and small villages. Schoonhoven is near Gouda which is renowned for its cheese. Many students use the ferry between Schoonhoven and Nieuwpoort to go to school. Cities like Utrecht , Rotterdam and Amsterdam are within an hour's drive from Schoonhoven.

The school has a reputation with regards to internationalizing. It has contacts with schools in Denmark , Germany , France , Italy and the Czech Republic . The students have exchange programmes with these countries and in that way learn to know and respect other cultures. All participating schools regard the exchanges as very useful and rewarding.
